With proper watering and care, new sod typically begins to root within 2–3 weeks. Full establishment usually takes around 4–6 weeks, depending on weather, soil conditions, and foot traffic.

The best times for sod installation are spring and early fall, when temperatures are moderate and there's enough moisture for healthy root development. However, with proper care, sod can be laid throughout the growing season.

We take care of all prep work—including removing old grass, leveling the area, and conditioning the soil. This ensures your sod has the best chance to root deeply and grow evenly.

New sod needs frequent, shallow watering for the first 1–2 weeks—typically 2–3 times a day. After that, watering can be gradually reduced as the roots establish. We’ll provide a clear watering schedule after installation.

It’s best to keep off the new sod for at least 2 weeks while the roots begin to take hold. Light foot traffic should be avoided until the sod is fully established to prevent shifting or uneven growth.
